Oral suspension: Augmentin (Amoxycillin/Clavulanic Acid/Doxycycline) is usually taken twice daily (morning and evening) with or without food. The duration of treatment should be extended to an average of 3-5 days. If a patient is not getting or keeps the medicine at room temperature, the dose may be decreased to 1 tablet every 8-12 hours. Do not use more than 6 tablets in 24 hours. Discontinue if an adverse reaction occurs, or if the patient does not get better. In case of overdose, get medical help right away. Medicines for Bacterial Infections may be prescribed in 2 doses: 1 tablet every 8 hours. This may be less than the usual dose. The maximum dose for adults is 1 tablet daily. For children >2 years of age, the usual dose is 1 tablet daily. The usual adult dose of Augmentin is 2 tablets daily.
